June has been an exciting month here at Annie Acorn Publishing LLC with the release of AAPub’s first audio book release, A Tired Older Woman Loses Weight and Keeps it Off! by our very own Annie Acorn, narrated by voice artist Rebecca Ortiz. As always, our award-winning cover artist Angel Nichols converts her original book covers into beautiful audio book covers. This is only the first of many AAPub titles to be released throughout 2017 and for years to come.
With the ever-growing popularity and convenience of audio books, it seemed the natural next step for our publishing house. We live in a fast-paced world where time and convenience matters more than ever. Having our publication selections available through Audible, iTunes, Amazon and other major vendors allows for maximum availability for each new title we release via audio book.
We have chosen specific voice artists for the narration of our audio productions that will enhance the experience of listening to each of our releases. Bringing their talents and expertise to the words written by From Womens’ Pens and From Gents’ Pens authors adds to the full enjoyment of these high quality audio books.

Chocolate Can Kill by Annie Acorn -narrated by Meredith Mitchell. Chocolate always makes things better, or so Emily Harris believes until even a dozen boxes of her favorite chocolates can’t put her world back together. Returning home from a trip to New Orleans, she is pushed down the airport’s arrival escalator, and despite evidence to the contrary, she believes the push was deliberate. If this weren’t enough, her lawyer husband begins to act strangely, her oldest son brings a tramp home as his girlfriend, and two friends are murdered. Simple sayings from her childhood thread their way through her thoughts as she struggles to identify the common denominator, even as she is confined to her home, munching on chocolates.
Filled with the warm southern ambience and gentle humor that author Annie Acorn has made famous, you won’t want to miss this cliffhanger!
Also available is So You’ve Lost a Limb by D. A. Grady, narrated by Joe Barrett. In early spring of 2006, beloved From Gents’ Pens author D. A. Grady’s life changed forever when his Chevy pickup connected with a metal guard rail on highway US 290, between Austin and Houston. When EMTs arrived on the scene and placed him into their Medevac helicopter, his left leg from below the knee remained behind in his truck, still in his boot. Faced with such issues as dealing with a prosthesis, relearning how to walk, and handling phantom pain, he brought to the situation the same courage, determination and ingenuity that had held him in good stead through a long life.
Since then, he has counseled amputees ranging from Wounded Warriors to fellow amputees he met on the street. Now he has put his experiences, solutions, and suggestions into words that can be passed onto others who can benefit from his experiences, in a uniquely conversational style that allows this fact-filled offering to seem as if it’s a conversation among friends. If you’re an amputee yourself, a caregiver of an amputee, or a friend of one, the information contained in this book will be helpful to you as you chart your new course through the growing world of amputeeism.
